Bishop Nathaniel Gomillion
Bishop Nathaniel Gomillion, licensed and ordained at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Prince George, Virginia, is a native of St. Louis, Missouri. After a tour of duty with the Army he entered St. Leo University, St. Leo, Florida (Ft. Lee Chapter) where he graduated Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management. He has done graduate work in the field of Education and Supervision at Virginia State University. He has earned a Masters of Religious Education (M.R.E.) Degree from Virginia University of Lynchburg, Virginia.
Bishop Gomilion is the Founder and Pastor of the Tabernacle of Praise Full Gospel Baptist Church in Zuni, Virginia and Tabernacle of Praise Ministries. Bishop serves as Bishop of the Fellowship Assistance Council and Emerging Churches that oversees the financial aid process of struggling churches within the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International since February of 2004. He directs the worldwide efforts of 22 elders that sit on this council and reside in various parts of the world.
Bishop Gomillion has, with the help of the TOPCITY Media Ministry, broadcast weekly on TCT Network. which was carried on Direct TV, 1800 cable networks, 18 local stations, approximately 10 satellites, and Streaming Faith on the Internet. This broadcast reaches 75,000,000 households and could be viewed in North America, Central American, South America, Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He broadcast locally to over 200,000 households in the Petersburg, Hopewell, and Prince George area. Bishop also has a monthly webcast that is broadcast on the churches web site.
Bishop Serves as the President of Kingdom Concepts an Affinity group that partners with various businesses like Nationwide Insurance Company to provide goods and services to their members as a discounted rate.
Bishop is also the author of three books, “My Journey through Joshua”, "Things I have Seen in God", and "God Can Handle Small". Along with this he and his wife have their own clothing business, “Joshua’s Line of Fine Clothing”.
In the year of Bishop’s elevation to Bishop, 2005, he was awarded the General Overseer of the Year Award for his work as General Overseer of the FAC. He also serves as the First Assistant to the International Bishop of the Faithful Men's Ministry and as a member of the Apostolic Covering Team for that ministry of the FGBCF.
Prior to his appointment to lead the FAC, Bishop served as Regional General Overseer of District Overseers for the Southern Atlantic and the Northeast Central Regions comprised of the states of Florida, Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, and West Virginia for Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship. In February of 2002, he was appointed to the Overseer's Council which develops and implements Episcopal training for the State Bishops, State Overseers and District Overseers for the FGBCF. He has also served as a member of the Church Planting Team, assessing applicant’s qualifications to be planted in a FGBC plant.
Bishop Gomillion is the past Regional General Overseer of District Overseers for the Western Pacific and the Southwestern Regions comprised of the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.
Bishop is the past District Overseer for the South Central District, comprised of 26 churches, and the First Assistant to the State Bishop for the FGBC Fellowship of Virginia. In 1999 he was selected as the International District Overseer of the Year. Bishop has also served as the President of the Baptist Ministers' Conference of Petersburg and Vicinity and is the Founder and is the past President & Founder of the United Fellowship of Churches of Ivor, and a past advisor to the Central Virginia Chapter of Women's Aglow Fellowship International. He has also served on the Home Mission Board of the National Baptist Convention of America, Inc and as a member of the Board of Directors of C.A.B. Outreach Ministries Inc (broadcasts on over 23 countries in Africa and has over 28 full time missionaries in the Philippines).
Bishop has held membership in many church related and civic organizations to include the Baptist General Convention of Virginia, the Virginia State Baptist Convention, the Bethany Baptist Association, the Hampton Conference, Blacks in Government Inc., the NAACP, and the SCLC. Bishop Elect Gomillion speaks on a state, regional and national level, and has been invited to speak on an international level.
Bishop Gomillion served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Tri-cities Brothers in Christ Ministries Inc., (an African American men's ministry) in for seventeen years. He has also served as Theology Instructor for the Baptist Ministers Conference of Petersburg and Vicinity.
Bishop Gomillion's government work experience began in 1973. He has worked at Defence General Supply Center as a Packer/Crater and at Fort Lee as a Supply Clerk (Unit and Organization), Supply Clerk (Stock Record Accounting), Training Instructor (Automated Systems), Training Specialist, Military Analyst(Automated Supply Systems) and Supervisory Military Analyst. He was a Unit Human Relations Discussion Leader, an Equal Employment Opportunity Complaints Counselor, and he has served as Chairman of the Black Employment Program Committee of Fort Lee.
Bishop retired from the Logistics Training Department as a GS-13, where he served as the Division Chief of the Supply Training Division and supervised approximately 86 civilian and military personnel.
He is a much sought after presenter that teaches, preaches, and does workshops throughout the length and breath of the nation. He has had numerous invitations to minister in Africa, Europe and the Caribbean.
Bishop Gomillion is married to the Former Miss Francine Smith, Assistant to the Pastor of the TOPFGBC who specializes in the prophetic. She is a very gifted & inspiring preacher and teacher with a ministry of her own to men, women and youth. No one should go to heaven without hearing her at least once. He attests that with all of her activities for the Lord, she never ceases to be a very strong source of strength for him and the church. He and his wife are the founders of Gomillion & Gomillion Ministries which focuses on the development of small churches, the development of leaders, pasturing pastors, and mentoring ministers. Bishop and Elder have many spiritual sons and daughters whom God has attached to them because of the wisdom that He has sown into their lives to provide strengthening for others.
Bishop and Elder Gomillion also provide notary services, financial services, financial counseling, tax services, and business plan counseling. Bishop is the father of four children: Robert, Wayne, Eric, and Georcol; and the grandfather of four, and the Godfather of eight.
Bishop Gomillion wants it known that he loves his wife, his children, Grandchildren, God children, spiritual children, church, the FGBCF, country and above all HE LOVES THE LORD!
